Hitman GO VR is a turn based strategy game set in the Hitman universe in VIRTUAL REALITY developed by Square Enix Montreal. It was originally released as a mobile game, PC and PS4 but the VR version will be exclusive to Oculus and Gear VR. It is set to release on May 11, 2016.
It is essentially a Hitman puzzle board game, where you can knock out enemies by moving into their spot as long as they’re not facing you. The goal is to reach a block by maneuvering around strategically and even throw stones so the enemies would face a different direction. It’s a cute little game that uses Hitman (to sell the game) but without all the actual killing (the fun part). That being said, the puzzles are unique and you may find yourself spending a ridiculous amount of time doing the same thing over and over again.
I also had the opportunity to demo the VR version at PAX East and other than being able to virtually see the puzzle in every single angle possible by looking around the map and leaning in or out to get a better look, the puzzles itself were the same. It was a cool experience to be able to play the game in virtual reality. The graphics were beautiful and I could almost imagine an actual board in front of me that I could touch and move.
Hitman Go VR will sell for $10 on the Oculus and $8 on Gear VR.
If you have a VR headgear lying around and you have a thing for puzzles and Hitman, this would be a good game to check out.
