Agar.io is a free online web-based game developed by Matheus Valadares. Basically, this is the old feeding frenzy fish game, but on steroids. The objective is to get as big as possible and eat everything smaller and thus inferior to you. There are two modes you can play in: Free-For-All or Teams.
Your blob moves to where your cursor is. ‘W’ makes you spew out smaller versions of yourself and hitting ‘Space’ splits your mass in half, projecting one half towards your cursor. Either way, whatever piece of you that doesn’t get consumed will eventually merge back together. The screen will automatically zoom out the bigger you get. There are also these spiky green blobs that allow smaller blobs to hide in for protection from predators. If you are larger than the spiky ball and attempt to hide/engulf, it will cause you explode into tiny pieces similar to hitting ‘W’ but omni-directional.
You also have the option to throw on some skins for your engorging pleasure. Now, I’m not sure about the experience of others but there are certain games in which I encountered some lag spikes. Simply hit refresh to be brought into a new room. The downside is that you really can’t pick a server so that all your friends can play together. Nonetheless, this is a great time killer and oddly satisfying. Definitely check this out if you haven’t already. I’m sure there’s some strategy involved but honestly I’m quite content with just speeding along and consuming everything unfortunate enough to be in my path.
