Nonstop Knight is a one-button dungeon crawler game developed by Flaregames and Kopla Games. It is available on iOS and Android devices and is free to download and has in-app purchases (pay to not grind).
So you’ve probably played various other clicking/tapping games like Clicker Heroes or Cookie Clicker and such. Pretty fun to progress in but man doesn’t your finger or thumb start hurting after a while? Well fear no more! Nonstop Knight gives you all the same satisfying feelings while taking out the annoying repeated clicking and tapping!
First off, it is kind of like a dungeon crawler except your Knight moves on their own. It’s more of a visual thing, and it is done very well. Your Knight is also always auto-attacking and the items you equip them with will alter some stats such as damage increase, attack speed increase, critical damage increase and so on. You can switch out equipment on the fly and any new equipment you obtain after boss kills or receive as a reward is free to unlock (gives a random stat) and will always be close to level your currently equipped item is for that category so you don’t have to worry about wasting your hard earned money!
The upgrading system is genius and I freaking love it because you can just keep upgrading what you’re wearing without the fear of having to save up money for new gear that starts at level 1. Literally saves you time and money. In addition to that, you can always swap out your gear at any time since some perks might benefit you more during boss fights as opposed to just coin farming. That being said, you will obviously have to farm more coins just to keep those pieces of equipment up to par but that’s up to you and there are already plenty of guides that are written.
As a side note, your helmet, weapon, and cape will change to show whatever it is you have equipped so you’re never just looking at the same get-up all the time. What I wish there was an option for was just to have a weapon skin on all the time. I really love the Katana and it gives attack speed increase which is great, but I still usually prefer the crit boost which comes on different weapons.
The graphics look great but it can get a little laggy sometimes. I usually notice this with the Ground Slam attack in AoE mode (area of effect) and the Leap skill with +coins perk but it’s just a slight stutter. It runs smoothly and kills your battery pretty damn quick but I guess that’s kind of the norm with mobile games these days. I wish there was a graphics setting where you can tone it down just a hair but honestly I’d rather just deal with the small issues and have something nice to look at.
Gameplay itself is pretty straightforward: tap the skill you want to use to activate it. There’s a lot of customization for both skills and equipment since there are perks for each you can unlock and swap out on the fly. All things considered, Nonstop Knight looks great.
Like similar games, there is an ascension function which basically resets you back to stage 1 but you retain your level and perks in addition to tokens which are spent in a shop to further power up your Knight. Your first ascension is mandatory but afterwards you can go up to floor 50 where your progress is going to plateau and you’ll probably want to ascend. Again, there are guides out there that will help you best manage your time and resources but that’s just where I found myself needing to ascend a few times. It will also tell you when you will get multipliers so you can make the best use of your time.
Nonstop Knight is fun, it’s free, and if you like endless progression games, definitely check this one out. There are leaderboards that show you who hit the highest floors as well so you can even compete against your friends!
