Hello everyone! Some of you may have read this guide on other forums. This is the revamp of the guide with additional information and updated pictures to reflect the NA/EU version.
This guide will focus on what crafting guild to choose for either early contents or end game players. I will rate each guild out of 5 stars for its usefulness in early contents and do the same for end game contents. When choosing a crafting guild, remember that you will also need the accompanying gathering guild in order to get the materials to craft. Stay tuned for our complete crafting guide that will detail each guild craft, which accompanying gathering guild and which NPC to talk to! ^^
Keep in mind that this is only a guide for beginners who wish to know what profession to join in their early days. It is important to note that in order to level up your clan you will need multiple people from all professions. Clan crafting is important as that is where you can get guild outfits, and certain items that unlock more of your skill tree- so really all professions are important.
There is a large variety in the sub professions you can choose in Blade and Soul. In total there are 7 crafting guilds and 7 gathering guilds. You can choose your professions once you get to Jadestone Village (around lvl 15). You can only join up to 2 crafting and 2 gathering guilds.
Under each guild heading, I will explain which co-crafting guild will work best with it and explain the guilds’ usefulness in early content and end game content. In addition, due to popular demand, I have included simple recipes for popular craft items.
List of crafting guilds:
Suggested combination: Soul Wardens, Merry Potters
Early Content: ★★★☆☆
Let’s face it, no one would spend money on buying these buff foods during early game content. Players simply don’t need them. You can always choose it if you would like to have some temporary boosts for your stats. In terms of benefit though: Loss>Gain.
That being said, when you reach level 45, a Windstride quest will require you to have an item called Purification Jar. Only Merry Potters can make it and one of the crafting material is from the acquired taste profession -> Ceremonial Meal. To make the Ceremonial Meal, you need to have Acquired Taste secret technique. Making and selling Ceremonial Meal may become one of your main income, but it takes 4 hrs to make it and the secret techniques has a low drop rate. D:
End game: ★★☆☆☆
Buff food might be useful once in a blue moon for end game PVE players. This is when you are really desperate for that extra few points of DPS to kill the boss in time. In this case, you may think about buying the buff food. But still… buff food can be dropped from mobs everywhere or given during events, so who would spend money on buying them? Whats more, players would have all completed their windstride quest anyways…
( ･᷄ὢ･᷅ )
Suggested Combination: Acquired Taste, Soul Wardens
Purification Jar Recipe:
- 10x Soulstone, 1x Moonwater Tear, 1x Banishing Charm, 1x Ceremonial Meal
- Soulstone: Obtain from Faction and Arena quests
- Banishing Charm: Obtain from Earthseers
- Ceremonial Meal: Obtain from Acquired Taste
Early Content: ★★★★☆
As you can see, you can craft bowls and refiners as a merry potter. These are must have items for all the other professions in order to craft higher level items. You can also craft windstride quest items such as the Serpent Calling Bell and the Purification Jar. They are sold for a very high price on the Market Place and in very high demand since everyone needs it. The only downside for this profession in early content is that it requires you to spend some $$$ to buy ingredients, but gain>loss.
End Game: ★★★★☆
Further in game, most of the players should have done their windstride quests. This means that demand will become lower and ingredients for the higher level items will become more expensive. But still, all the other professions will always need your bowls and refiners to craft their items so this is still worth it.
Suggested Combination: Acquired Taste, Merry Potters
Early Content: ★★★☆☆
You can craft transformation stones! (ง •̀_•́)ง These are the must-have items to upgrade your weapon and you are the only one who can craft it! But it isn’t that easy…Making transformation stones require materials from Merry Potters and Sap from Tree Fellers and Quartz from mining around the map…so it’s very time consuming ( ´_ゝ`) but it’s big money at the same time! You can also craft Soul Shields. They are designed to be fused to your main soul shield and will give you additional stats. However, since you level up fast and change Soul Shields quickly, I don’t think you would want to spend money and time on them- no one would buy them anyway.
Best profession for end game content! As players arrive in the Moonwater area, the demand for the Moonwater Transformation Stone will significantly increase and you are the only one who can craft it ( つ•̀ω•́)つ. Further in game, when hardcore rich ass players all get their best end game Soul Shields, they will look for sub soulshields to fuse and that is your time to make some gainzzzzzz.
Suggested Combination: Silver Cauldron
- Ingredients: 5x Pristine Clam, 5x Premium Tempered Bowl, 1x Moonwater Tear
- Pristine Clam: Obtain from The Fish Network (Gathering Guild)
- Premium Tempered Bowl: Obtain from Merry Potters
- 1x Moonwater Tear: Obtain from Moon Water Dungeons and Blackram Supply Chain
Four stars purely for the unsealing talismans (●′ω`●). Unsealing Talismans are used to unbind items that are sealed, some items require more talismans than others. They rarely drop from mobs or appear in dungeon treasure chests. Quests give you some, but it is not enough. As you keep leveling and upgrading your gears, needing more talismans to unseal your items is inevitable. In early game content, the unsealing talismans’ price would just go up on the Market Place. Other than that…Revival charms might be useful…? Craft it for yourself, ’cause no one would bother spending money to buy them. Like Acquired Taste, you can craft Banishing Charm, an item that is necessary to craft Purification Jar (Crafted by Merry Potters for the level 45 windstride quest)
End game: ★★☆☆☆
Players won’t lack of unsealing talismans at end game, they can be obtained in daily quests box at a high rate and we just don’t have much to unseal anymore. And again…revival charms might be useful…?
Suggested Combination: Earthseers
Early Content: ★☆☆☆☆
Seriously, who needs to craft dem pots if they are dropped everywhere ?
End game: ★★★☆☆
Again, your hp pots are useless. But in end game, you are an important profession for some guild craft items, such as the Blackwyrm roar resistant charm and Hongmun pill (An item that unlocks LMB legendary skill). Other than that… Antidotes might be useful……? Also, much further in at ”Jade Palace”(Level 50 dungeon at Silverfrost Area), you may need antidotes ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) that only this profession can craft.
Suggested Combination: Forgekeepers
Early Content: ★★★☆☆
Three stars ’cause of keys and jewelries. During early content, starting from lvl 20, players will begin to experience a shortage of keys, since you keep opening weapon chests and RNGesus just won’t let you get your character’s class weapon (ಠ .̫.̫ ಠ). You get few keys from quests, but they are just not enough…This sub profession allows you to craft keys easily and at a very low cost. This means you are self-sufficient and can also sell them to gain some $$$ to level up your gear. Also, you can craft jewelry to feed your main accessories.
End Game: ★★☆☆☆
Basically, players no longer lack keys and also don’t need your jewelries. Your only hope is crafting a diamond gem bag. In case you don’t know what a diamond is, it is a gem that adds permanent stats to your character (e.g. Attack, additional damage, evasion, defense). The ONLY useful diamond is the one that adds Attack power. The Brilliant Hexagonal Diamond (Adds ATK Power 28) is currently selling for ~80 gold on the Marketplace. The lower stat ones other ones vary from 1-25 gold. The diamond gem bag you craft contains only one and it gives you randomly one of the 5 possibilities. Both the gem bag and the diamond it contains can be traded. You can just sell the bag or pray to RNGesus, open it, and see what you get.
Suggested Combination: Radiant Ring
You can craft repair tools…┑(￣Д ￣)┍ repair tools can be dropped from anywhere and is even sold by merchant NPC. Plus, your weapon is consistently evolving and its durability always resets to 100%. You can craft weapons to feed your main weapon, but ugh…weapons are dropped everywhere also …
End game: ★★★☆☆
In end game, high level weapon needs more than one repair tool to repair (e.g. True Profane needs 3 to repair). Your weapon durability goes away pretty fast. You have a chance to obtain repair tool in your daily reward box, but it will never be enough. One repair tool is sold around 2 silvers on Auction House… with the listing fee, your materials fee and your time spent on crafting it… Gain = Loss lol ……. Keep the repair tools for yourself .-.You can sell them if you have lots of extras… and you can maybe gain a few silvers.
