Vampyr is being developed by the same studio as “Remember Me” and “Life is Strange”, DONTNOD studios and published by Focus Home Interactive. It is set to be released in 2017 and will be powered by Unreal Engine 4. It will be available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
You are a doctor, prowling the dark alleys of London in the 20th century at the height of Spanish flu epidemic. The city is an echo of its former glory. It is now diseased with rampant violence and despair. The dead outnumbers the living and those still alive may be unlucky, foolish or desperate enough to stumble in the path of a monster. Everyone is dying and you are a vampire.
The story is set out in London, England and the player begins the story with a deadly conundrum. You are a doctor by trade and thus have sworn the Hippocratic Oath of healing and life, but you are also a vampire driven by blood lust. What will you choose to do? How can you still be a doctor when your very existence is an abhorrence to life? Master your newly found powers and discover your true identity – whatever you may choose to be.
- Explore 20th century London, a city churning in despair and hopelessness
- Play a tormented and powerful Vampire learning the rules of a vampire. A man of science, a beast of the night: Your toughest battles will be within yourself.
- Build your own combat style through a wide range of crafted weapons and powerful Vampire abilities to defeat a large and unique bestiary.
- Choose your fate: moral choices will shape your story. How human could a Vampire be, when he must feed?
Not gonna lie, I am so excited for this game. I am looking forward to how they will incorporate various historical accounts of the Spanish Flu in this game. Since it will be powered by Unreal Engine 4 the graphics and gameplay will look fantastic. The concept art is already enticing. If they can pull this off, DONTNOD will have another successful release under their belt.
